Be a part of Christian missions by volunteering alongside our missionaries. Can you come to Belgium to serve with us for one or a few months? You will be helping in practical ways while growing in your walk with the Lord in an international environment.

‘ZavCentre’ has been part of OM for over 60 years. It began as a strategic garage that enabled OMers to share the Gospel in the 60’s. Through time, ZavCentre has been remodeled to serve as a guest house, office building, and conference centre. It has video and audio recording studios and is also home to a few long-term OMers.

Ministry details

Pivot participants are a key element within ZavCentre, helping with the upkeep of the guest house and the conference centre. They experience a taste of missionary life and are supported to grow in their walk with the Lord while engaging in practical service.
A normal week in the program includes mostly practical work, but also self-study Bible time, a meeting with their personal mentor, teaching sessions, and attending the wider team meeting. Twice a month there will be organized outings around Belgium.

Participant profile

Participants must be comfortable in English. Knowledge of French and/or Dutch is a plus, but not required.

On site living accommodations are included. You will be living in community with other OMers from around the world at OM in Belgium's facilities. Pivoters will be welcomed to participate in community events.

Participants will be responsible for their own catering and will use a shared kitchen to prepare meals.

Participants are encouraged to arrive at Brussels International Airport (BRU). Flight and travel costs to Belgium are not included in the outreach cost. Participants should check before traveling if there any Belgian regulations in place in regards to COVID.
Please contact your local OM Office for travel arrangements.

Each participant is encouraged to have their own travel health insurance and be in reasonably good health.

At this time, only participants who have an EU passport can stay for longer than 3 months.

For “Pivot”, we are able to take participants from 2 – 11 months. The program will undergo certain changes starting September 2022. If you’re considering to be here during or after that month, we will communicate in what ways the program will be different. The cost above is based on the price for a three-month program. Final costs will be communicated when applicant is accepted and dates are finalized.
